Windrush

Wizard Theatre is putting together a play about Windrush but - oh no! the Director has only gone and lost parts of the script. Can the pupils help the director re-write the missing pieces of the play and in so doing discover the importance and significance of the Windrush pioneers? Wizard presents this immersive and interactive programme available throughout the year.

Workshop features:

  • 1 or 2 day programme (depending on number of classes involved)
  • The History & Politics of Windrush
  • People & Prejudice

Celebration of Britain Today and all its cultures

Using over 20 years of experience working in schools with young people the Wizard Theatre team will bring the story of Windrush to life, creating, devising and rehearsing scenes to culminate in a final performance (with the option of being filmed). Whilst exploring the various themes we will be instilling self-belief and growing confidence in a nurturing and supportive environment and having lots of fun!!

Producing high-quality theatre-in-education that engages staff and students is of paramount importance – this mission drives us forward. The cherry on the cake is that when we do such a great job, we receive multiple reviews testifying to that statement.

Every project delivers a different experience to those involved so it rewarding to hear first-hand what our audience took away with them. For some, our projects can be reflective and thought-provoking, for others they can install confidence and ignite passion. Please take a moment to read some reviews from past and present Wizard Theatre clients.

I have never seen the children so engaged!

I really look forward to the Wizard workshops. They just make me giggle! I love how the children belly-giggle while learning about potential life decisions in their future. Many members of staff have seen this workshop and always describe it with a smile. What a talented bunch of people!
